Wayfarer Church
A church for people on the way. Sundays in downtown Barrie.

What about my kids?
Nursery to grade 5 during the 10:30 service, with checked and trained leaders. Kids start in the service and head to their rooms after the first songs.
Safety Every leader is police-checked and trained. Kids are signed in at the welcome desk and only go home with the adult who signed them in.
Welcome
If you are reading this, you might be thinking about visiting. We would love that.
You do not need to know the songs, own a Bible, or have it all figured out. Come as you are, grab a coffee, and sit wherever you like. If you want to talk afterwards, I will be at the back.
Daniel Okafor Lead pastor

Our story
Wayfarer started in 2014 as twelve people around a kitchen table on Mulcaster Street. Today we meet in an old hall a few doors down, and we still eat together whenever we can.
We are a mix of students, young families, and people who have been walking with Jesus for seventy years. Most of us were new once.
Who is Jesus?
Jesus is the reason Wayfarer exists. The Bible puts it like this:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John 3:16-17, KJV)
If you have questions about that, you are in good company. Ask us anything.
What we believe
We are a Bible-shaped church. With Christians across the centuries we confess the Apostles' Creed:
Read the full statement
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, Born of the Virgin Mary, Suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was crucified, dead, and buried, He descended into hell; The third day he rose again from the dead, He ascended into heaven, And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost; The holy Catholick Church; The Communion of Saints; The Forgiveness of sins; The Resurrection of the body, And the Life everlasting. Amen.

Questions people ask
Do I need to sign up before I come?
No. Just come. If you would like someone to meet you at the door, use Plan your visit and we will look out for you.
Is there somewhere for my baby?
Yes. There is a parents' room at the back with a speaker, a change table, and comfortable chairs.
Will I be asked to give money?
No. Giving is for people who call Wayfarer home. Guests are our guests.
Can I just watch online first?
Of course. The 10:30 service streams live every Sunday and stays up afterwards.
